Our beautiful new campus opened in 2006 with civil rights icon, Ms. Ruby Bridges, coming to our dedication. We celebrate our diversity, value educational achievement, and take pride in being the future. In addition to a fabulous staff, we have an active hardworking PTA and two afterschool programs. We have a variety of intervention and enrichment programs to help meet the needs of every student. Our Innovative Plan focuses on the Whole-Child in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) and Wellness and is entering it's third year of implementation. Our students can learn the responsibilities of peer leadership by being on Junior Coaches, STEAM team, Student Council, and more. When you come visit our school you will see engaged learners and enthusiastic teachers!
Please go to this page with information about AUSD's Safe Haven Resolution AUSD's Safe Haven Resolution, the City's Sanctuary City proclamation, and other resources about the status of immigrant families in our school district and community.
Classroom observations by parents are welcomed and encouraged at all AUSD schools. Although we welcome these visits, they can be disruptive to the classroom routine and instructional time. We must give the teacher 24 hour notice that the visit will occur and the visit may not last longer than 30 minutes. Please fill out the attached form and drop it off in the office. Send an email to Mrs. Pharr-Matthews at dpharr@alamedaunified.org to set up a time to visit your child's classroom.
Every May, AUSD seniors visit as Ruby Bridges Elementary Alumni and offer words of wisdom and advice to outgoing fifth graders.
Our former students are graduates of Alameda, ASTI, Encinal High, and Island High Schools. Ruby Alumni enroll in various Peralta Colleges, UCs, CSUs, University of Oregon, Yale, branches of the military, and many more prestigious continuing education opportunities.
We are so proud of all our former students and their hard work. We look forward to seeing what our future students will accomplish!
We have two different programs offered for after school care: Camp Edmo and WCDC. Please click the links to learn more & to sign up.
